The Seagate Expansion 5TB Portable Hard Drive STEA5000402 provides 5TB of additional storage in a compact portable enclosure. It is designed for users who need extra space for documents, photos, videos, music, backups and other large files without replacing the internal storage of their computer.

The Expansion portable drive is designed for straightforward installation. Connect the drive to a compatible computer using the supplied USB cable and it can be used for file storage and transfers without requiring additional software. Files can be moved using simple drag-and-drop operation.
USB 3.0 Connectivity
The drive uses a USB 3.0 interface for fast data transfer and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports. USB 3.0 transfer performance requires a compatible SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port. Seagate specifies USB 3.0 as the required interface for USB 3.0 transfer speeds.
Portable and Bus Powered
The compact portable design makes the drive suitable for carrying between home, office and travel locations. Power is supplied through the USB connection, so no separate external power adapter is required.
Compatible Storage Expansion
The STEA5000402 is designed for use with compatible Windows, macOS and ChromeOS systems. Seagate notes that reformatting may be required for use with Time Machine on macOS.
